Pomeranian Tale

A new documentary project supported by the Ministry of Culture in Poland and Marshall of West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Stettin isn’t a typical city. With no centre, its wide streets have no destination. Just like a tourist, the urban identity seems to be lost and suspended somewhere between German and Polish heritage. What if the Pomeranian Tale isn’t hidden in the shadow of Polish-German oaks though, but in the scanty shade of Brazilian palm trees?

AWARDS

Cosmic Joe

Has been awarded at the Szczecin European Film Festival 2018

AWARDS:

Szczecin European Film Festival 2018

official selection at odcienie wolnosci, within the 15. Film Festival Millenium Docs Against Gravity

Co-directed with Louise Wallace.

The short documentary piece is a reflective journey through the cosmic philosophy of a poet and musician who lives in an area of the Burren, known as the New Line. He allows us a window into his private life, in the small, cozy caravan, and, spending the day with us, invites to reflect together on our responsibility and contribution in creating the nice, friendly, enjoyable world.

„Cosmic Joe” loosely touches on the current problems of the wave of immigration and refugees making us think about the absurdity of the idea of boarders and aware about the responsibility which is involved with the freedom demanded by all of us. Although it does not resemble the importunate piece of dogmatic propaganda, but rather the easy-going, casual conversation in the heart of nature.

TRAILER

Beyond the Bug River

A documentary about women on both sides during Polish-Ukrainian conflict at the WWII time.

A socio-cultural project in which the author seeks out and attempt to understand her family roots. Indeed, in Szczecin, many residents can trace their ancestry to the present-day Ukraine. And so her ancestors arrived in the Recovered Territories, following the ethnic cleansing and the exile of Poles from the area of Wołyń in the 1940s. Those were terrible times, yet they are seldom remembered and discussed.
